Amplifying the Impact of OT in Older Adult Residential
Care Through Occupational Justice.
The OTopia Program is inspired by the concept of Utopia (Sargent, 2010), desiring to establish an older adult residential living guided by principles of equality and justice, as seen through the lens of occupational therapy (OT).
OTopia Program is an evidence-based initiative designed for OT practitioners working with older adults. It provides training to promote the understanding of occupational justice and equip practitioners with tools to mitigate occupational injustice in residential settings. All participants who complete the training will become OTopia-certified and join the OTopia Community, a platform for collaboration with colleagues to promote Occupation-Based Practice and advocacy.
